Shifting Gears

The COVID-19 pandemic has given the leadership of the Conclave of the Craft an unprecedented opportunity to reflect on our priorities and reassess how best to serve the community. As a Traditional, Initiatory, Wiccan church, our vows are first to serve the Gods and preserve the Craft. We feel that the best way to do this is to focus the limited resources we have on teaching and supporting our existing membership and to come together less frequently as a large group, and by doing so avoiding the expenses incurred in holding four large public events per year.

We have found over the last several years, and especially during the pandemic, that the majority of new congregants find us through our twice-yearly Seekers Classes and through web contact and word of mouth. We have also found that our Open Sabbats are not generally attended by those who don’t know us at all but rather by community members who already have a relationship with one of our working groups. As a result, we feel confident that we can continue our mission to be available to the public in ways other than meeting at all four solstices and equinoxes.

Going forward, we have decided to open our doors to the general community once a year at Litha, to celebrate the height of Summer. In the meantime, Conclave leaders remain available to the public through our Contact Page.

May the Gods preserve the Craft!
